Groomzy Policies -
Nikki, the owner of Groomzy, has provided detailed policies to ensure clarity and fairness for both the business and its customers.
1. Service Changes

Time Allocation:

You are booked for a specific time slot. If you reduce the service time (e.g., from 75 minutes to 25 minutes), you will still be charged for the originally booked 75-minute slot.

This is because the salon has reserved that time for you, preventing other bookings.

Service Type Changes:
-
If you change the type of service at the last minute (e.g., adding a bath to a comb clip), Groomzy may not be able to accommodate the change if it impacts the next customer's appointment.

It is best to contact Groomzy well in advance to change the type of service.

2. Cancellations, Rescheduling, and Lateness
-
Late Cancellation/Rescheduling Fees:

A fee of $70, $110, $130, $180 (depending on the booked package) applies if you cancel or reschedule within two days of your appointment.

This fee compensates Groomzy for lost revenue and operating costs (rent, electricity, labour, etc.).

Weekend/Holiday Considerations:

Groomzy is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and Thursdays.

For Tuesday appointments, cancellations or changes must be made by 1 PM on the preceding Saturday.

Fee Waivers (Limited):
-
The cancellation fee will be waived if your cat has passed away or becomes ill, provided you submit a vet certificate within 48 hours confirming the cat's condition.

A doctors clearance letter must be provided within 48 hours to wave a fee due to owner illness.

No Fee Waivers (Common Scenarios):
-
Lateness exceeding 10 minutes will not result in a fee waiver.

General life events (work conflicts, traffic, social events, other appointments, childcare issues) will not result in a fee waiver.

Documentation Requirements:

Vet and GP letters must contain:

Doctor's signature
-
Doctor's name, address, GP code, and phone number

Specific illness or condition
-
A clear statement that the cat is unsuitable for grooming, or the owner is unable to be present.

3. Matted Cats
-
Regular grooming is essential to prevent matting and potential surcharges.
4. Aggressive Cats
-
Veterinary Consultation:
-
If your cat has a history of aggression, consult your veterinarian for calming medication before the appointment.

Highly aggressive cats may not be accepted.
-

Safety First:
-
Groomzy reserves the right to stop a grooming session if the cat poses a danger to the staff or itself.

If you cannot handle your cat at home, contact your vet before contacting Groomzy.

Owner Responsibility:

The owner is responsible for informing Groomzy of any known aggression.
-
The cancellation fee will still apply if an undisclosed aggressive cat cannot be groomed.

5. Unhealthy Cats
-
Health Priority:
-
Only healthy cats should be booked for grooming.
-
Cats with signs of illness (cat flu, skin problems, diarrhoea, wounds, missing fur, sign of ringworm etc.) will not be groomed.

Panting Cats:
-
Grooming will be immediately stopped if a cat is panting, as it indicates a potential health emergency.
-
The appointment will be cancelled, and the owner may be charged.

6. Pregnant/Recently Desexed Cats
-
Specific Timeframes:
-
Pregnant cats, cats that have given birth within the last three months, and male cats desexed within the last two weeks or female cats desexed within the last three weeks should not be booked.

7.Parasite-Free Zone
-
For Everyone's Safety: Cats with parasites can't be groomed. We'll have to cancel the appointment.

Rescheduling: If your cat has parasites, your appointment will be cancelled, and your booking fee will become the cancellation fee ($70, $110, $130, $180 depending on your package).
To cover the reserved appointment time, cancellations made under points 2-7 will result in your booking fee/deposit becoming a cancellation fee of $70, $110, $130, $180, depending on your package.
