Cancellation & Reschedule Policy

Please note that arriving late for an appointment could mean that we are unable to provide the full service you are booked in for as there is an allocated time for each service. Please be respectful of our time as we are a by-appointment business, and another client could have taken your appointment.

We send a friendly reminder to your phone number via our booking system 2 days before your appointment at 10 am. It is an automatic text message. Please reply in few hours so we will know if you are coming or we can book another kitty instead of you and avoid sitting in the salon and waiting for a no-show. You will have to reply Y to confirm or N to cancel your appointment. 

OPENING HOURS:

We are open from Thursdays to Mondays! We are closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

From April 2022 we will work from Tuesdays to Saturdays. Sundays are reserved for regular clients only. 

Weekend appointments are booked out months in advance. To best serve you and your kitty please book as far in advance as possible and consider setting up a schedule with us.

BOOKINGS:

We take $50 deposit/ kitty. 

When making your next booking with Groomzy please keep in mind that our average wait time is 4 weeks. There are only 5 exclusive cat grooming salons in Melbourne currently and we are all fully booked. 

We are only able to hold appointments for 24 hours, before they are confirmed and secured with a deposit. This deposit is used as credit towards your grooming fee and is refundable if notice of cancellation is given more than 24 hours prior to your groom.

Please pay your deposit in 24 hours through a secured portal link, sent by Groomzy via text message or it may be offered to another client. Please note, deposits are non-refundable if you cancel your appointment less than 24 hours before. 

 

Prior to your appointment, please assess your cat for the following:

  • Hair loss or balding

  • Discharge

  • Swelling

  • Open wounds

 

If these issues are present on your cat, please see your vet before the appointment to clear them for grooming. We are unable to groom cats with unresolved issues. If you bring your cat with these issues your deposit will be forfeited. 

LATE ARRIVALS:

Groomzy is a type of salon where you take your kitty and no other clients kitty is in the salon. Therefore we have allocated time to work on a cat depends on the type of the service and cat temperaments. Dry lion cut can be 25-40 mins, comb clip with bath can be 60-80 mins.

Please make sure you arrive in time. It is because we can not ask next customers who will arrive after you to come 15-30 mins later. I will not start the service if I only have time to shave half of your kitty or I only have time to bath your kitty but no time for blow dryer. If we can not start a grooming service, that appointment will be cancelled and a $50 (your deposit) cancellation fee will apply. Please note: If someone does not agreed to pay cancellation fee for the missed appointment, we sadly have to ask you to find another cat groomer.

CANCELLATIONS & DEPOSIT:

Groomzy sends a confirmation text message 48 hours of your appointment. Groomzy ask you to reply Y to confirm or N to cancel your appointment. If you have to cancel/reschedule your appointment less then 24 hours, a cancellation fee will apply.

We started to ask $50 / kitty deposit from customers. Deposits can not be refunded if the appointment was cancelled less than 24 hours of the booked appointment.

If you arrive late, we can not start the appointment, deposit can not be refunded.

NO SHOWS:

Unfortunately there have been no shows when we are waiting in the salon and our calls and texts have been left unanswered.

No shows are very rude acts therefore:

No shows will be put on a black list and we can not take further calls/bookings again.

MATTED CAT POLICY:

We will no longer accept cats with significant matting or pelting. Removing mats can be painful for your cat and puts your groomer at a far greater risk of injury. If your cat attends an appointment and is deemed to be matted or pelted, service will be refused and the deposit forfeited. We recommend all mat removal be performed by your vet under sedation. Our mission statement is to create happy and healthy relationships between cats and their people through regular preventative skin and coat maintenance. A clean cat is a happy cat.

DESEXING POLICY:

Please note, the minimum waiting time for your cat to be groomed after desexing. Please confirm with your vet that the cat is fine to be groomed after desexing. These are recommendations only and must be confirmed with your vet. 

We are unable to groom cats that have given birth within the last 3 months. 

Females: Minimum 3 weeks

Males: Minimum 2 weeks

Reschedule your appointment: Yes, we can reschedule your appointment. We understand situations arise where you need to reschedule and we can accommodate your request within reason, but not on a continuous basis. If you have to reschedule your appointment less 24 hours, deposit can not be refunded. 

We send you a friendly reminder to your phone number via our booking system 2 days before your appointment at 10 am. Please try to reschedule or cancel your appointment at that time so another client can take your appointment. We are working by appointments, we are a small business, please support us by informing us in a timely manner and we can use that time to book in another client who may be on our waiting list.
